A rare original with raw beauty.
This hand-knotted rug from the Shirvan/Kuba region of the South Caucasus dates from around 1920–1940. It features a beautiful repeating boteh pattern on a ruby-red field, interwoven with deep indigo, apricot, white, and olive green. The structure is compact, flat-woven, and made entirely of wool—both the pile and the warp. A powerful example of nomadic craftsmanship with character, patina, and history.
