This generous vintage rug comes from a private collection in Germany and was carefully selected for the Bababoho collection in Amsterdam.
The deep red field is richly decorated with a classic Herati design surrounding a central floral medallion. Dark blue, ivory, soft green, and rust-orange accents give the rug a warm, characterful appearance.
The rug is hand-knotted in wool on cotton and is attributed to the Hosseinabad type from the Hamadan region. It is believed to date from approximately 1950–1970. It is in beautiful vintage condition, with signs of wear consistent with its age.
