A refined hand-knotted atelier piece from the first half of the 20th century, executed in a classic tree-of-life composition with paradise motifs, birds, lions, and fountain ornamentation.

 

The design is carefully and symmetrically constructed. The ivory-colored field contrasts strongly with deep indigo blue and warm reddish-brown accents. The detailing in flora and fauna indicates workshop production from the early developmental period of the Qom tradition.

 

Wool on cotton, medium-fine knot density, tightly sheared low pile. The refinement of the contours and the layered border structure confirm the higher segment quality within this type of work.
