This authentic hand-knotted carpet from the South Caucasus (probably Karabagh or Kazakh style) dates from the period circa 1930–1950.
The bright octagonal medallions stand out against a deep indigo blue background, framed by red and accents of soft green and beige. In the center of the piece, you'll even find small animal and human figures – a popular detail among collectors.
