Vintage Moroccan high-pile carpet – Atlas – 281 × 181 cm

A sturdy hand-knotted carpet from the Atlas region in Morocco, featuring a distinct diamond pattern in deep burgundy, terracotta, and cream shades. The rich high pile and solid weight give this piece a tangible presence in the room.

This carpet was knotted in the Middle Atlas region, most likely between around 1975 and 1985. During this period, traditional geometric patterns were combined with more intense color tones, giving this type of carpet its warm yet strong appearance.

With its 18 kilos of wool, it lies heavy and steady on the floor — a carpet that not only makes a visual impact but also radiates physical quality. The geometric diamonds provide rhythm and structure, while subtle shades of old pink and earth tones soften the whole.
